6.5 Grendel Magazine -vs- 7.62 x 39

I have been looking around to find magazines for my 6.5 Grendel and I saw where someone mentioned they use 7.62x39 magazine for that. Got me curious so I looked it up. It’s not exact, but looks like it could work. What do you think?

I mention this because my perception is that 7.62x 39 is more readily available than 6.5 Grendel. Here is what I found at MidwayUSA when looking for magazines.

It’s possible, I’ve not tried. The Grendal needs a different curve. You can use a standard AR mag up to 4 rounds or so.

Here are some more options.

Don’t cheap out on the magazine. It’s not worth the potential problems.

I agree with @switchpod, stick with the calibers designed magazines. Your range days will be a much better experience if they are not full of FTF’s. I can’t speak about 7.62x39 magazines working in that application, I have none to try. I do know that the 6.8special is the exact same magazine as the 6.5 Grendel.

I dunno, but something tells me they have Grendel mags now.
