My uncle turns 99 this year. He was on the beach on the second day. He was in mine detection for after the landing. He was injured and spent months in Army hospitals in England and then San Antonio. He later helped to find this.

My mom’s husband was killed there that day. She and my Dad went to visit the grave site while on a tour of France and Italy.

I should add that if we ever do go to France it will only be for WWII memorials.
I have no interest in paris except for notre dame.
