80% Builds and FID Denials

Hi, I’m new here. I recently moved to Communist state of New Jersey. It is EXTREMELY hard to get a Purchasing Card here. I had one in Pennsylvania. Went to the NJ Dealer and they told me I need a new one, where the state of NJ does a Background check. I thought that was strange, not wanting to cause any waves, I went and got my finger prints done, submitted them to the state, Passed, Went to the local Police Station, applied for a LG, and Pistol permit, passed and received both. Drove 2.4 miles to the firearms dealer, and Purchased a Glock 19. 9 Days later still not hearing from them I stopped in. They told me I was disqualified in Pennsylvania(Which is impossible, I had my FID in PA, also have a Class A CDL).
Question 1- any suggestions on how to handle that, being they came and took my NJ FID card.
Question 2- Can I purchase and 80% and build a Firearm myself. Already have a few, would now like to get into building one. What site are best to order from.
Thank You in advance.
Jeff

That’s a nauseating situation

I had a conditional hold once and when I finally got the pistol I sold it without even shooting it I was so put off by it, as I found delays getting more common I said f it and have just decided to settle on 80% builds, figured out fancy firearms don’t make getting steel on target any easier anyhow

From what I understand (I may be getting bad information), it is illegal to complete an 80% firearm in New Jersey, which is likely to cause issues with finding a company willing to ship an 80% frame/receiver.

There’s also the issue of the market for the last year or so shifting things from ‘which is the best company to order from?’, to ‘who has anything in stock?’, at least with building anything similar to a Glock.

Looking up 80% building legality in NJ appears to produce one result - illegal.

It also appears to be more restricting than even CA for handgun purchase process.

I am a little confused by the first question. Are you disqualified from purchasing handguns or any guns in your new residence - NJ?

That’s a good question. The store was unable to give me a written reason on why I was denied. I still have an active permit for a long gun, however, I no longer have he Purchase card, because a detective came and took it. I have been in touch with Even Nappen, I’m sure it is just some type rope they want me to walk, or some Nonsense. I was just gonna go Purchase another Mossberg, but realized I know longer have the FID card

JTR. Luckily I am an MMA Fighter, I do have a Padt time Carpenter Job, but its nothing I won’t quit tomorrow. We are Looking now, in South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Texas. Florida prices are through the roof, but thats OK, So are NJ house rates, and I’m 2 Houses from the water. So I will get a decent amount, and I own this house. My wife is a Hospice Nurse. She is looking online for a place to transfer to. Its not for the $ necessarily, she LOVES what she does. But I’m 90% sure I won’t be a New China, I Apologize, a New Jersey Resident in a year from now. We were pretty much set to move to Easley SC, then her mother got Cancer, and is not doing well, that is the MOST important reason we are still here. Thanks for the advice tho. Yous all seem really cool, glad I found this site. I wanna be able to go out to my yard, and shoot. I wanted to go to WV. She seen some movie, and WV was out of the question. So im pushing for Texas, she wants NC or FL. Any will be fine with me.

I’d make it happen before something occurs and it can’t

I did my time in FL and if you like goings on its a happening place,
I prefer it quieter these days, more better for me

Sorry to hear about your mom, I did my time in FL as well and that is just how it felt like I was doing time. SC is nice, I still have family there, just stay away from the cities where ever you end up. Texas can always use a couple more patriots, it looks like they need them, or you could go the other way, up here in Maine we have pretty good gun laws, lots of work, and plenty of snow, just make sure you go north of Bangor.

FL may be good for MMA i had a friend down there that could get fights easily. I did my time in FL also and i don’t miss it. I would say good luck affording a place you can shoot in Florida at home but since you own in Jersey seelling there can cover the cost of rural FL land which ain’t cheap.

Yea, I have Family in F, and they said Prices are Skyrocketing because people like myself are leaving these states. She won’t go north, she does like the cold AT ALL. She is Always Cold, even on a day like today when it’s 87 will go down to 68 tonight, she will have a Blanket on her. They can’t even tell me why I was denied. Which I think is BS.

I’ll make sue to show her this, but I think we are going south. I wouldn’t mind. Actually wanted to to to Nevada, Zona, she said to Far, Texas? She still thinks is far but can’t make a move right yet either way

Southern Missouri or northern Arkansas still have lower than avg. land prices.

Smart thinking, they aren’t making any more land, well, except in the UAE, and, some Chinese Islands

But you don’t want those

I have trainee in FL. before at one time they had 2 of the top 5 Gyms in all of US, but I Trained under Blackzillions, at the JACO training facility, until Glenn Robinson Passed. Came back to Philadelphia, which is my main Team, Renzo Gracie Philly, under coach Daniel Gracie. I have Trained at American Top Team, which is most likely who I would train with if I went back to Florida. I’m fairly close with alot of their fighters, good Friends with Jorge Masvidal. Also Trained in Colorado, New Mexico, California, so that’s never an issue. I had a Perfect pass picked in Tennessee, then read an article about how Tennessee is becoming more and more like California. Alot of Cali people moving to Tennessee, and not the ones I want to be around. I like the quiet life, but would still like to drive into a city(Fairly big) if/when I want to. Everything seems SOO far in Texas, I love Florida’s Governor, and Texas also, hope they can hold on. IDW Trump to run again in 2024 because he would have to knock off DeSantis in the process. Rather DeSantis just take it, but thats for another time. Still trying to figure out why this denial happened. Found out it’s saying is was a mental health issue from 2009. But NO Case #, NO Judge, NO Dr./Psych,. NO Hospital, All is says is Guilty. Mr. Nappen is looking into it. It all seems very strange. I had Broke My leg and Hip in 2009. He said they may have sent in a Psychiatrist just to talk to me, because of what I do, put that in my final report, and it’s flagging me. That Hospital has since been torn down, and we can not find where the records were sent to. I will get it straight, just a pain in the balls for a guy who has NEVER been arrested, Never had ANY type of domestic issue, Don’t Drink, Don’t Smoke, Do no drugs, but in Philly the other day, a guy purchased a shotgun while on Parole for Domestic Battery. It wasn’t Dark Waters was it?
Don’t think it affected the entire state just where DuPont was located.

Hope you find you new place.
