When you purchase a used AK rifle of any kind. Make sure you look it over. If the guy will not let you pop the hood. Don’t buy it. Here is just one reason you should look it over before any purchase.
On the plus side, you can use issues to talk the price down. This rifles barrel was pristine and even had Russian proofs on it.

I see this more on ARs… but yep… I have had to fix a few AKs with the same issue. Big one is “trigger” jobs.
