Since I have never gotten one from you before, I’m not disappointed. As long as I’m still in the will, I’m ok.

Welcome from Texas! So with a screen/user name like RedriverII, are you by any chance close to the Red River that separates Texas and Oklahoma?

No Sir @Equin. That was the John Wayne movie that fascinated me as a youngster. I had parents somewhere, and did survive a rather violent childhood. So watching that movie was a healing sort of thing I never forgot. Gotta get your nurturing wherever you can find it I suppose. I was touched by the ending when father and son make up. Never happened personally but I had hope from that film.

Oh, man, I love John Wayne movies, but I haven’t seen Red River yet. I take it this is the ending scene you’re talking about?

Thanks for the hearty welcome, it sure is nice. @Equin I am referencing the whole movie, sort of a saga actually, nowhere close to Odysseus but an American bred story of planting your Flag and going for it. My Dad was a WWII merchant marine and had plenty of ghosts and disturbing thoughts during his long life. We were disconnected for most of my life. The reuniting in the story was fascinating to me. I hope you enjoy the movie. One other thing my Dad was a John Wayne type, stoic, angry, and I never got a I love you out of him. He was terrific at holding his emotions in.
