Since i know some of you guys are really into it, have you ever seen the reenactments from fuedal japan?
Apparently when on horse back, some fighters wore a small parachute behind them that did a GREAT job of stopping incoming arrows?

I did not know that, to be completely honest I am not the biggest fan of Japanese history. Sure they have some cool stuff but so many fake karate dojos , anime katana worshippers and fake ninja academies from the 80s sort of detracted me from studying it much. Then you crack open english translations of old Japanese texts and they speak in circles and repeat themselves way too much for my taste.

It was on a History ch. show about ancient weapons. They showed paintings of the time with them in use and tried it.
It actually worked.
