Assault weapon ban. How many times do we need to try this?

I haven’t looked at the text of Feinstein’s latest regurgitation of the 1994 ban, but since 2004 she has been including stuff like redefining what a pistol grip is.

For example, a standard M-1 Garand meets Feinstein’s definition of having a pistol grip (unless she has changed it again), because the lower edge of the stock forms something other than a straight line between the back of the trigger guard and the bottom of the butt plate. It also has a barrel shroud, because the stock keeps your support hand from being able to touch the barrel, even if you wrap your thumb over the top.

Some of her previous bills also redefined “removable magazine” to include various clips and speed loaders, meaning that any tube fed shotgun that can use the competition speed loaders, suddenly becomes a firearm that uses a “removable magazine” (doesn’t matter that you don’t own a speed loader, have never used one, and have no interest in buying one). Also applies to the Garand, SKS, various revolvers that use moon clips…

You really have to read her gun control bills from start to finish (can’t miss a single line), and make certain exactly what each clause does, because she will bury stuff in her bills, hoping for a big ‘gotcha’ if she can manage to pass one of them.
