The Black Hills round’s muzzle energy is stated correctly. However, Buffalo Bore’s muzzle energy is not. Buffalo Bore’s muzzle energy is actually 899 ft. lbs (assuming that the velocity and weight of the bullet are stated correctly).

Regarding BB’s ammo being called “reduced recoil” - I am guessing here, but they probably slow down the burn rate of the powder which would stretch out the recoil just enough to have a felt impact.

What you have done here is include statistics from two different charts. The 899 ft lbs is from the chart that correlates that energy with 1500 fps - which would be out of a pistol. The 1762 ft lbs figure correlates to 2100 fps - which would be out of a rifle.
