The question is does intelligent life exist outside of our planet?
That barely exists here so I have no real guess, ymmv.

last year I was suddenly awakened by a loud noise and the dog was raising all sorts of cain. So I jumped up and put my scooby doo slippers and batman jamas on and rushed outside yielding a sawed off nerf gun. To my surprise a huge space craft was embedded in the muddy ground. I though OH My goodness, my first thought was I may be outgunned so off in the house to grab my GI Joe water pistol.

So when I approach the craft I hear some very familiar music and thought maybe these guys are human. The door slowly opens and to my amazement out comes Elvis in his full splender dancing to the tune Jailhouse rock on the space linear 1000 radio. I commented WOW Mr. Presley, you have lost weight and are back down to your younger years weight.

He said Thank ya, Thank ya very much.

That’s my story and i’m stickin to it.

I have zero doubt there is life out there. Likely even in our solar system. But a technicality advanced civilization that happens to exist at the same point in time is less likely. That they would know of our existence adds another layer. And if the did know we were here, we’d likely be extinct by the time they got here.
The distances are so extreame that if we were to hear radio signals, that civilization is probably already gone. If we were to reply we’d be extinct before they heard us.

The physics just don’t work. Sad perhaps but true. Maybe not a certainty, but like I said I’ll take any bets.

I also had an odd experience once. You may have heard about it.

Mama in her kerchief and I in my cap had just settled down for a long winters nap.

Well too long to write the whole story but ultimately a fat little midget with a loot sack broke into our house. He’s currently in a shallow grave in an undisclosed location.

We dont know whats out there. Our tech and science isnt really that advanced to determine the possibilities. When we can leap through worm holes I will buy the human explanation for the universe. As is we can barely touch the moon, ymmv

“Rabbit hole”? Not really but kind of , Hawking was considered one of the greatest minds of our time. Im not placing bets that we will develop anything useful with that info in our lifetime and our country wont be pioneering anything like that either. We will be a socialist third world country by then, imo.

Yeah, I read a number of Hawking’s books.
The problem with theoretical physics is that’s it’s just that, theoretical. Don’t quite buy the multiple universe/ string theory thing either.

You can make the bet. Don’t matter who wins, by that time the government will have all our money anyway. I could pay you in cats. We know you’re a cat guy now.

With an IQ above 160, right? making him pretty close to a genius. His work is respected by most of his peers for a reason and this was kind of his expertise. He was a little more educated on the topic than most is what im trying to say.

As far as cats…ok but dogs are ok too, maybe ammo if Cal gives you permission.
