How does it go on and off the gun. Tools required?

yeah, little hex wrench, fits mostly large frame, some compacts and hardly any sub compacts that i can tell. it is going to depend a little on the rail design too, but long as it is about 2.5" from the trigger guard to the end of the rail it will likely fit.
