Yeah, that’s pretty much what they go for now.
That’s the way to buy them
No just the fire arm itself. Sights, scope, bipod, red dot, etc are extras.
I wouldn’t pay more than 1500 for an AR, 2000 for an AK, and 15k for a bolt long range
… holy cow! I mean … you could buy a newer truck too.
That’s cool don’t get me wrong the cheytec intervention M200 is cool and all , but damn!
Well I spent close to that on my TrackingPoint rifle. But extreme long range guns aren’t cheap after scope, range finder, custom barrels, triggers and all that good stuff
I love the one I had it was a pig though, it was the monolithic model. Best pistol trigger ive ever used. It was rather tight fitted though, I’m not sure how it wouldve handled a dirty environment.
Well that makes sense.
Yep. Same here. My buying binge was '77 to '82.
I haven’t bought much in the last 2 decades.
I’m a cheap bastard. My geezer guns run and gun along side the latest Star Wars contraptions.
Yes I own some S&W revolvers and Browning shotguns that have doubled or tripled in price over what I gave for them a few years ago . But I feel alot of guns on the market are over priced for what they are .
A man has to know his limitations
LOL, is that a hi point?
Or jennings
my limits are only based on what I can spend, I had a 5k limit on this one and would do it again, and would spend that on a pistol as well, so long as I have the ability to buy what I want I will
My pistol price goes closer to $800 if it is a S&W 686. Did close to that once but definitely worth it.
When I got mine it was$300.
Wow! That’s crazy!
I’m not a Glock fanboy but I like my 43 and would get a 19 for the right price. Lots of other good pistols out there for a little less $$ though
I have zero limit. If I want it, I save and buy it. Same with anything else.
No, I am not rich… but I know firearms and I know quality.
EVERY time I have compromised… i have regretted it.
Does this mean I do not own a Taurus? No… I own one.
But I sure in the hell do not own hi-point or a Kel-teck…
To me, 2K is nothing for a quality rifle. $600 for a Glock? No problem.
$900 for a 1911 or a Smith and Wesson revolver? Yep…
But maybe I am just an ass…
And I say this with fondness.
I get to handle a LOT of firearms. All brands, shapes and sizes. I deal with the BS of them…
I will have people verbally try to abuse me over why their shit-box home made AR is better than my LWRC units.
“I have 75,000 rounds through my AR!”
No you do not liar…
Sure I am opinionated… but that opinion comes from owning, shooting, abusing, and seeing what others do to them for decades.
My personal custom ARs are in the 2k range, my cheapest AR is an LWRC DI rifle,
I own nearly every bullpup brand available that is of quality and the ones I own I would grab and take into combat.
What I look at now is stuff in the 7 to 10K range… heavy hitters like the Barrett M82A1 or a belt fed… I am so close to building an M60
I really do not look at pistols, shotguns, or rifles much anymore that the average Joe wants.
I want “stopping” power or suppressive fire capacity.
For that, you have to dig deep to find those pennies.
I look at it this way…
Am I going to trust my life to a cheap firearm?
Full disclosure that was 37 years ago.
I wasnt even alive 37 years ago
Buy once - cry once. Another recent topic with our crew.
Conclusion: Quality never gets old.
