This is the old school way of cleaning cast iron. Don’t throw these things away.
We do ours in the oven rather than the fire.
Never throw them away!!!
Love cast iron. I also do mine in the oven.
My wife uses this for the family all the time 1 side is for bacon the other side is for steak it looks a little nasty but the wife says it’s ok she doesn’t really clean it she just wipes it off after it gets hot to clean it
Glad to see some “seasoned” cast iron, no better object to make cornbread as well as countless other food.
My wife uses her cast iron to cook with and to let me know what I will get clocked with well sleeping if I was ever to stray. I know I’ve got it good so I don’t have to worry about that happening.
The timeliness of this thread is amazing. I just came across an old cast iron skillet yesterday and need to clean and season it.
I’ve got the same griddle.
Good cast iron is hard to hurt. Burning it is the easiest way.
