You shouldn’t drop the slide on a 1911 without a loaded magazine in it
The force of the slide will prematurely wear out your reverse spring plug or bushing depending on what model you have
Does your trp also have a ils main spring housing ?

I’m sure it does because there’s a back of grip safety on it.

In school the rules are no feeding devices in the work area unless you’re working with snap caps.

I understand that rule
My point was don’t drop the slide in a 1911 in the fashion that you were doing
It is not good to do that
