It kind of depends on the situation, doesn’t it? I mean if a couple of idiots were in my yard a 12 gauge would be in order, if you were sniping something at 400 yards, I’d say 308, although I prefer the 30-06.
You wouldn’t be trying to stir the pot, would you?

This ^^^^^^^^

But I like the 7.62x39 for short range urban encounters for various reasons.

All good choices with pros & cons. I like the larger heavier caliber. Large, good mass & energy, accurate devastating round that is less influenced by wind at mid to long range than lighter counterparts, but it comes at a cost of a beefier/heavier rifle to wield, more recoil, slower velocities, diminished ammo capacity & double the price per round.

Yup, depends on the situation. I missed seeing .30/06 too.

Do we have to pick one of them three?

Nope, with the help of your credit cards, I can have ALL 3! :+1:

I wouldn’t have a gun in either of those calibers.

The one in your rifle when you need it is best

All the calibers mentioned will get the job done! There are lots and lots of different AR
calibers/options to choose from these days. It’s a pick your poison type situation. The 300 BLK would fit in as well👍

Do they make a 25 auto AR? that would be my choice.
