I saw Tim at Military Arms Channel was discussing the Glock Gen 6 and the possible changes to the new models. He created a survey on what features people would like to have.

Likewise, I just created a petition for a manual safety - it probably will not appeal to many current glock owners, but some may be interested - and will certainly attract new user to the brand.

Of the manufactures Sig, S&W, Ruger all seem eager to deliver features that owners request. Glock is slower to respond and needs some encouragement. Hopefully, a petition with enough signatures will motivate them to offer a feature that untold numbers of people want - But end up having to go with a competitor’s product, because it’s not offered.

Let’s change that.

Yes, You are correct sir.

…but they still don’t offer the commercial version, Glock 19X, with a manual safety in the US . But the Royal Thai Police Force does have glocks with manual safeties.

With or without the safety it’s still a Glock, those who like them will buy them and the rest of us will not.

I would be more worried about a Springfield XD as the striker is cocked on those. Glocks don’t go boom if you don’t pull the trigger. Why do you want to introduce another component to the system. The more parts there are the more chances of something failing at the worst possible time. Do you want to put safety’s on revolvers too?

No the striker on a Glock is not cocked. You cock it and release the striker safety as you pull the trigger.

Don’t xds have a grip safety? It seems to me the ones I have looked at did.

Yep, I do recall that is correct, thank you, so XD is cocked?

Yes the striker protrudes out of a hole in the rear of the slide showing it is cocked and ready to go.
