I just discovered Full 30 from one of the folks over at youtube who said he was putting or was getting ready to move his videos here. I decided to take a look around. I am impressed!
I have enjoyed shooting for most of my life and currently target shoot at the range at least once a week. I mainly shoot .22 target pistols, which are older High Standards and a S&W Model 41. The only modern .22 I use is a Ruger SR 22, which serves mainly as a plinker & kit gun. I still have a couple of older shotguns but haven’t shot in years since I no longer hunt. I do have a Springfield XD I really like, but advancing arthritis now usually has me carrying my SR 22.
I have a long interest in military arms and am now taking interest in reading about guns of the old west. Besides firearms, I also enjoy hiking (as you might have guessed) as well as camping. Also, I love to travel, and have been to four continents, five countries, and 47 states. Also, music is another one of my passions. I’m also a musician and I play mainly bass but also hand drums and percussion as well as a little octave mandolin. Arkansas State is my alma mater, and you will find me at every home football game cheering my Red Wolves on.
Teaching is my profession, and I am on my thirty-fourth year of teaching, where I have taught second through sixth grades. I retired once, but went insane and am now teaching again. I have coached football as well.
I am married and also have a daughter, which sometimes make me even more insane, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also serve in my church playing in the band and working in the youth ministry, as well as on the security team.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you, and discussing all things firearms. I know of at least a couple of fellow Arkansans here, and looking forward of possible meeting them in person.
Humm… I learned to shoot on a 41 in the '70s (took that exact gun to a steel challenge shoot this year and placed 5th with it). Moved up to a high standard later on in the early '80s. And I bought an SR 22 a few years ago. Yea, I think we are going to get along!
Welcome from Cajun country. That XD is too good a gun to have sitting around and not being used. Mine is the Tactical model in 9mm. I changed the recoil spring from the 20lb that it came with to a 13 lb from Wolff. WOW! It became a whole new gun. It is sooooo smooth and the recoil is greatly reduced.
On the other hand, I love the SR22.
