Talked with a 15ish year old boy today after church, (friends son) and he don’t have internet but was curious about a historical or index of guns in a book form, anyone know about something out there like that?
Well they are not encyclopedias but for noobies I really think Jeff Coopers “To Ride Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth” and “Principles of Personal Defense” are a must own. Fighting smarter by Tom Givens is another.
Pretty sure Peterson’s Encyclopedia of Firearms was the one that one of my Brothers memorized. He is sort of like a Firearms Savant. I think they’re pretty expensive in really good condition. Brownell’s is about $70.00, but more technical and re modern arms. Amazon has the Illustrated World Encyclopedia of Guns for $35.00.
This kid seems like he could be a savant, homeschooled, good kid, but smart for sure. Was telling me about hex barrels and whatnot today
Got you. Sounds like a possible mentor outreach for you?
