My wife and I went to a gun show in Albany today. I figured that it was Sunday after church so most ammo would be gone. I saw two guys walking out each carrying a case of ammo. I was surprised. So we got inside and i found out why their was still ammo to be had. Case of 380 $750, case 9mm $600, the rifle ammo was more reasonable case of 5.56 $600, case 7.62x39 $380. Small pistol magnum primers $100.00. By far the worst offender there had a case of small pistol primers (5000) for $1375 for those that don’t know a case of small pistol primers goes for $230. Plenty of cheap steal case Tula 9mm for $30 a box. Plenty of 5.56 at $20 a box. 7.62x39 at $20 a box. No ammo shortage at that gun show. I’m a capitalist so i don’t call it price gouging but sheesh. Told the wife i needed to go home fill up the truck with every factory loaded box of ammo at the house and go into business.

You may need all your ammo if she reads your post . There is no way I would call my wife my wide. You are in trouble.

I saw similar prices at a show in Fort Worth last weekend. I ended up buying a few boxes of 5.7 that were only overpriced.
I looked at a couple of Ruger 57s while I was there. They wanted from $899 to $1099. The MSRP is $799.

Yeah guns were overpriced also but not as bad as ammo and primers. Saw an SKS that looked like it had be dragged behind a truck and they wanted $600

I did buy 4 Ar 10 mags at $15 apiece. Much cheaper than the Ar 15 mags selling for $30 apiece

I just checked ammoseek.com. That appears to be the going rate. Both calibers are $0.60/round or more.

Good thing i don’t need any of those rounds. I did go ahead and buy a case of 7.63x39 online today since I’m down to several hundred rounds i paid $355 shipped. I think I will be out of it before i see the price go back down. I shot 80 rounds in my new canik the other day and it wasn’t even noticeable that i took any out of the 9mm ammo can.

I went to another gun show today in Perry Ga. Ammo prices about the same. $1 a round for 5.56 or $800 dollars a case. and 7.62x51 no discount on a case still a buck around. 7.62x39 was cheaper at $450 dollars a case and or $15 a box. 9mm $30 a box or $600 a case. .380 was $800 a case or $35 a box.
I did buy a box of Underwood 10mm at $25 for the box not actually a bad price for that stuff. I also picked up a 11.3x53Rmm Dutch Beaumont round for $4.

Damn! Definitely NOT the time to buy…unless truly desperate.
Last time (last fall/early spring) I bought 7.62x39-$179 @1000, 7.62x51 308 $6?? @1000, 9mm $180 @1000,

Quit going to shows about 5 years ago, you know when prices were high.
