Crazy thing that right there is . Sure Zelensky is getting his cut being a dictator and what not. Anywho how are they making anything with a major war going on? :flushed: seems something is rotten in Denmark !!

If you notice it is all American companies that are working with them. CCI, Hornady, Bartlien, etc.

Interesting write up and design.

I don’t know if they are making anything currently as this article was written in march of 2021.

That thing looks some kind of russian/chinese pile…

Indeed. Yet it’s parts are mostly American. It can be dolled up. A Uke Sniper just broke the distance kill record with one. For whatever that’s worth.

Propaganda IMO…

Yep that’s what sniping is all about. Propaganda. To get in their head that they aren’t safe, and give your team warm fuzzys that overwatch has got their back.

Why else would they film the shot? In case it worked they get the propaganda value. Unless you take out generals and colonels, or a company the only real military benefit of sniping is the propaganda factor.

I have to say it is also 2 fold.
The elimination of high value targets is primary reason for sniping these days.

Agreed. In this case it appears it was just a dog face. So I’m going with @rjburk, it was for propaganda in this case. Still it was one hell of a shot, thus effective propaganda.

I wonder how many they filmed before they got the money shot?

The shot being made at that distance is propaganda, never happened, shooters and rifle builders here in the U.S. with the best of everything can’t make that shot with numerous tries. A cold bore shot at that distance did not happen. I don’t believe it at all.

Ahhh. You maybe right. Me I am not so sure that it wasn’t made.

I forget whose school it is that has the entire class hitting 1 moa targets with their own 308s at a mile by the end of the class. So it seems possible to me.

Ballistics wise the round is best out there. It will be interesting to see how it does at Raton, where 2 miles is the metre.

A 308 barely reaches a mile I would have to see it, most guys don’t even have scopes that have enough adjustment to shoot that far, scopes with that kind of adjustments get pricey fast. MOA at a mile takes some very good equipment and skill.

My win mag sighted in at 100 yds needed 24 mils of hold to hit a mile. My 34 mm scope tube scope only had 23 1/2 mils adjustment. That was with a 20moa scope base.
If you throw enough rounds at a target far away you might eventually hit it.

A tenth of a mil is basically a 1/3 of an inch so 1 mil is about 3 1/3 inches(moa).

If it indeed was a for real shot . Which I have watched videos of a guy shootin 1 and 1.5 miles on you tube. Sonit could have been done… But like I said if it was done it wasn’t done on the first shot that is for sure

It was a long way. It was 2,475 metres away, which is just over a mile and a half - and my rifle only shoots 1,500 metres.

"So I had to… I call it ‘lob in’. I had to lob in, I lobbed the bullet in.

"It took me nine shots to get there, because I was bracketing - what bracketing is, is that you fire the first shot, see where it lands, add a bit more on, add a bit more on, add a bit more on, until you hit it.

"And I managed to hit the compound wall. So I fired, and I could see it just hit next to him.

“So I fired again - as I fired again, he stood up and I hit him here [points to centre of chest]. He fell backwards.”

This is what He said " I lobbed it "

Agreed with all ya’ll, which if you look back, that was what I been saying all along sssshhh

It’s ugly. Not a cold bore. How many tries? I dunno. Propaganda? Yep. Did it happen? It could have. That guy that lobbed it in wasn’t even prone and did it with balisticly inferior round at only 160 meters less.

And yes a mil is a meter at 1000 meters and close enough that I use 36 inches at 1000 yards, or 3.6 inches at 100. My Scope only has 50MOA/29 Mils of travel, on 20 MOA base with 10 MOA rings. When set at 50x at dawn the mirage is quite tolerable.lol.

This school uses a 300 winmag. When I have time I will find the one that teaches 'em to do it with a .308.

Maybe a Kid can do it?
