The buckhorn rear sight on this Henry was flag giving me fits. This Alaskan sight from Skinner Sights is much, much better, at least for me.
…venison in the freezer.
A rear peep sight is much better than the open Buck horn sight.
some people don’t seem to think so but everyone’s eyes are a bit different. i know for me, i have no issue out to 100 with the marlin style buckhorn BUT it is a different design. and i don’t have an issue at say 50 yards and in with the henry version but that is something about the target size in relation to the valley part of that henry buckhorn that just throws me off. and, it is certainly a plus that i have a lot of experience with apertures from my precision shooting background with this one.
Such a cool rifle! Those Alaskan rear sights look top notch. I replaced the factory sights on my Ruger 10/22 with Tech Sights. They also have a rear peep, but those Alaskan sights look way nicer.
tech sights are nice. i like the fiber optic sights from Williams on my 10-22s… for general purpose or hunting anyway
