As you all probably know The far left has labeled the NRA a terrorist organization. Many people who were supporters of the NRA including me have dropped their membership in response to many things. Money issues, and bump stock ban among other things.
But I think the more important issue at hand is are we going to allow them to be labeled a terrorist organization? If they can label them that then they will go after all other smaller groups next. I plan on joining again, but I will continue to express my displeasure with some of their recent actions. I just think it’s better to choose a side in this debate and show it by increasing their membership numbers.
Let’s back in and make a difference in their votes.
I do do one year at a time but only in hopes that they scare some politicians into upholding their oath to the constitution. I’m not saying what anyone else should do just explaining my reason. Like it or not they are the big boys on the block and San Francisco just upped their visibility.
I support two other organizations and one with a monthly donation. But I want a vote in the NRA. Wether we like it or not they are the most powerful gun lobbying group in the nation. We need to make votes that count.
I truly believe that if we stand by and let the left declare them terrorists and destroy them we won’t have the same power in Washington again.
I’m not saying we should support their current affairs but we can’t change them on the outside.
And they have used that power to influence politicians (and Presidents) to push gun control measures. I’m sorry, but I’m not paying someone to work against me. Whether its NRA or NRA-ILA, I don’t care what letters they want to use, my money is not headed that way. They need to clean house at the NRA, and they don’t need my money to clean their house.
Sometimes, the enemy of my enemy is not my friend.
That’s some seriously screwed up stuff. They are probably gonna lose a lot of members over that. you can’t make someone join something that cost money and expect everyone that wants to be a member on that site do it. forget them jerks.
I still maintain my basic membership, but I stopped sending extra money. When they call me for donations, I refuse. Instead, I say that I will resume extra donations after they get their house in order. I agree that the NRA has made mistakes, but we still need them. Losing them would be a monumental victory for the Left.
I read that whole thread and the Administrator on that site sounds like a real asshole… I should join just to give him some etiquette on how to be an Administrator.
You would be banned suitably there
I’m a member there I don’t post really
Just read for what I want to learn
There is a pecking order there
And if your not in
Yiur nothing
Some of the rats that helped ruin the nra are still alive on that sinking ship! No way i throw a life preserver till the fat rats finally drown! They haven’t really had our 2nd amendment right as their 1st priority in a very long time, just filling up their pockets. Once the cat cleans out all the fat cheese eating rats & they get their shit together, good leadership & 2nd amendment protection as a **1st priority ** then I’ll start tossing my $$$ back in.
WOW, just…WOW! The NRA has defamed the 2A. They have squandered untold millions that could have been used to stop the ban on bump stocks, to fight Red Flag Laws…Oh yeah they were FOR them weren’t they. To bam increased background checks, oh yeah they were Ok with that too weren’t they. I hate to use this analogy but if the shoe fits. Ever heard of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I am beginning to think that is what the NRA is. Answer me this, who is fighting Red Flag Laws right now, who is fighting STILL to reverse the bump stock ban, who is fighting the BATFE definition of a machinegun for every weapon with a bump stock, who is fighting universal background checks, who is fighting ALL the current anti 2A crap that is seething down Capital Hill? It isn’t the NRA I can tell you that much right now. GOA, FPC, 2AA, and there are others. I agree we have to unite but we must do it under a banner that is true to its cause, and the NRA just isn’t it.
Agreeable, even with the present leadership, the NRA is still the strongest gun rights organization.
But until they get their house in order, I will be donating more of what they used to get to SAF, GOA, my state’s gun rights organization, and Institute for Justice.
I became a life member 25 years ago . I work with the Friends of NRA on. The foundation side to raise money to promote youth shooting sports and firearm safety programs . Under the tax laws we can do no political work and no money we raise can be used for anything but what is aloud . NO salary is paid from it . I don’t give any more to the ILA and have not for many years . I prefer to help my local and state reps. I feel my money is better used to elect people I can call and talk to myself and I can do that with my state and federal reps. They know me and listen when we talk.
