What part of “shall not be infringed” do people not understand? This includes the NRA.
“Shall not be infringed” does not mean tax, restrict, and ban from use.
This cannot be more clear. If you disagree with the second amendment then that is your right to FEEL that way, but to suggest that forcing everyone to live by a standard set by the lowest common denominator is not why this country was sot after in the first place in the days following up to it’s conception.
If you yourself support what the NRA is advocating you may want to take a hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask what kind of future you want for family?
Well said. I’m tired of all the lowest common denominator Fudd BS talk. In this forum and others. The pro NRA community is not one of me and my community. Any group who calls for additional regulation does not read the 2nd Amendment like I do.
Yes and yelling “Shall Not Be Infringed!” At politicians and courts does what? The Supreme Court has allowed for bans and infringement. I don’t like it, I don’t think it’s correct and I’d love to change it. But wanting something different doesn’t change reality. Throwing tantrums and argueing amongst allies changes nothing.
We need a new constitutional convention that firmly binds this to reality. Or to amend it another way. Until then I/ we have is the governments we have this court system. We need to push the ball forward. Not wallow in decade old court rulings and laws WE CANT CHANGE. Life’s not fair neither are our courts. Let’s learn and move forward
I don’t see why we need to amend the Constitution when our 2nd Amendment is as clear as it can be.
The Supreme court has Ruled mostly favorable to the 2nd Amendment in recent years. Heller, McDonald.
Do you have any idea what can be thrown in during a Constitutional Convention? Be careful what you wish for there.
The original intent of the 2nd Amendment is very clearly supported by the founding fathers and their writings.
I do not believe the Constitution is a living breathing document. It means what it says it means. The problem has been activist courts, and NRA arm chair commandos.
No tantrum here. I haven’t yelled here or in my videos. I stand with the 2nd very calm and steady. Just because someone owns a gun does not mean they are an ally for liberty.
You are right. Aw what a relief the courts have saved us from infringement. I mean clearly I can still buy a new made full auto and suppressors are as easy to get as a regular firearms, and everyone’s CCW is legal everywhere just like your drivers license. Also no state outright bans complete classes of guns, or puts made up restrictions on things like magazines. Thank you the courts for saving us.
Yes and thankfully it’s clear to everyone. Feel free to drive into New Jersey with legally owned and purchased pistol. The courts there will just say Oh you’re not a paper felon! You’re rights can’t be infringed.
Only the Supreme Court has been somewhat helpful but not enough to dissuade those legislating from the Bench in the most liberal Circuits where also all the worst laws are pushed out
It needs to happen, conversations don’t have themselves, they start by posting thoughs, views, opinions etc, and hopefully evolve from there
I personally really want the NRA to come to the table and ask what we want, asses and grow with it,
its really discouraging they seem utterly disconnected from us
Well, you can hang that up. The NRA as it is currently structured doesn’t care so long as the membership stays up and the money keeps rolling in. The board is meaningless. You don’t get to see the vote for any transparency. And those who are elected have no power. That resides with the entrenched executives. If Pete Brownell with the pull he has within the industry could not manage to enact change, then the writing is pretty clear. Truth is the only way you will ever get any meaningful change in the NRA is those who are truly in power die off. Or a mass exodus forces change. Listening to those who spout the rhetoric of we just need to push for change within the NRA are clueless. When you wield the power that LaPierre, Cox and their cadre do. The only way to wrestle it away is to affect the bottom line. As the dynamic stands, by force is the only way to get results, only when the membership numbers drop, the clout diminishes and the money gets interrupted will the change we want be had.
Well said @Robert also I hope I’m not coming off like a troll @Glockshooter79 and @switchpod make excellent points. We need this type of discussions so we don’t start attacking each other like the Left.
You can not be nice to everyone all the time. It is a sign of weakness and the left has been exploiting this for years. It is unavoidable that there will be heated discussion about what fat needs to be trimmed.
Men are not men any more. Principles mean nothing. When a man is willing to negotiate his children’s liberties away he proves where his allegiances lie.
Agent venom is right . Fighting among ourselves will just weaken us to the point we have no political clout anymore . Yes the national leaders of the NRA have become more like polititions than activists and that is why we need to continue to let our representatives know how we feel about what they are doing both in the NRA and in government… The NRA is still the big dog compared to the other groups who’s members are most likely also members of NRA so call and write the national headquarters and let them know how you feel . Don’t cuss and rant but be very clear about how you feel about how they are acting . Don’t call people a fudd just because they choose to continue to support them . I personally want the N R A to grow a set and fight tooth and nail and the only way to make that happen is to be involved . I work for a company that has the state Republican chairman as our ceo when he brings polititions in to the plant he knows that I work with the friends of NRA and he always makes sure to have them talk with me and you better believe I let them know what shall not be infringed means to us . Do I want or need a bump stock? No I don’t but I also don’t care how many you have if that is what you want . I also think we should be able to have anything that the military has.
@Jtr Agree with 100% of what you said. Thanks. I want the NRA to be better and fight as hard as all the guys on the forums and guntube channels do. But we have to make them
…using only something they understand. Money. Stop donating to them to make it cash starved then watch how quickly they come back to our side. Money talks & bullshit walks as they say.
According to @Caw , if a prostitute is soliciting sex, and one wants & pays for sex, he expects sex! One shouldn’t have to then persuade, manipulate, or Bill Cosby her for it! One should expect the same from the NRA!! The NRA solicits fighting for our gun rights, takes the $$$$, then doesn’t fight, only agrees with & tries to appease the enemy! The NRA has become a lazy whore
Like I said,GOA is out there fighting it out in court battles. They dont compromise. I’ll “armchair quarterback” them money over some bullshit org thats only compromising on us.
+1. I support GOA. Where is NRA in court fighting for bump stocks? GOA is in Michigan’s western district fighting tooth and nail. Also taking it to the 6 circuit court of appeals yesterday filing an emergency petition for a stay on the regulation.
