love the myth of the 1903 springer when in fact there were more P17 Enfields than 03 Springfields used by the US in France and the only reason the P17 wasn’t adopted post war was because of the sights ( P17 had a very capable and effective battlefield sight where 03 had a better “Marksman” shooting on a range sight).

Very cool! I have a Model 12 and really want to add a ‘97 to my collection. A shortened trench ‘97 like yours would be even better!
