The Germans experimented with all sorts of things during ww11 this is one of those .

STG44 with a curved barrel attachment. I have also seen pictures of these with a prism style optical sight attached. Designed for street to street urban fighting as the Russians were advancing.

Yep. Originally designed to keep enemy off a tank it was repurposed for street-to-street fighting.

Hard on barrels, though.
