I had a couple of the muskets before, don’t even remember the make or models. but I do remember they sling a huge chunk of lead. think I still have some cast balls here somewhere.

Along the same lines as big caliber black powder, have you ever researched how devisting the, I believe 58 Cal. Mini ball ( Claud Minie I think ) was… Early Sharps I believe, big, heavy and relatively slow can still produce nasty wounds!

I had a couple 58/s too, I still have one but it’s not the traditional musket type rifle, more along the hawken lines. It’s a butt stomping lightweight gun too.
