M1 Carbine Type 3 Barrel Band with "W" Marking

I just got a WWII/Korean War M1 carbine made by Inland Mfg. Div., GM, in Feb. 43. The barrel band with a bayonet lug is marked “W” on the left side. I haven’t found anything about the manufacturer or date of manufacture. Does anyone here know anything?

I checked there first. I searched barrel bands and not one had a marking of “W”. I googled it but nothing came up there either.

might be of interest even though an old post but I seen a new nos inland carbine barrel still in wrap w/ cosmoline for sale on e-bay a few days ago and the price wasn`t to bad

could be related to Winchester… my M1 Carbine Winchester has it
