I used to design safety circuits for factories. A kill switch certainly has lifesaving advantages. But they aren’t perfect, and a poorly-designed system could end up killing people while following the emergency program. This has happened before with the Boeing 737 Max.
A manual override should be present, capable of overriding the emergency kill switch.
I am afraid our politically-driven leaders won’t be as thoughtful as you. So, not expecting the design to be good and not expecting the override switch, either. Although, I agree with you, especially if they added a passcode to be entered to override the kill switch.
I don’t blame the idiot public as much as the admin that got them onboard.
