I’m having a hard time find an aluminum officer frame. Is it possible to cut down a commander frame and make it an officer frame. I know the grip is longer but is there any other concerns in doing what I want. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks
WTH, grab a cut off wheel and give it a whirl!
BUTCHER!!!
At this point in the conversation you might as well just grab the Dremel.
I think it’s better to wait until I find the correct frame since I’m not in a hurry.
A very wise choice!
Just go with the Pleb Frame.
Can you send me a link to the pleb frame. Thanks
Just for reference.
Recoil shoulder is identical to commander.
Personally, I think you could silver solder frame fillers into the frame if you were set on officer’s size and couldn’t find a frame.
Though I just did a search and 1911 builders came up
And you could convert it to series 70 with a TJ Shim.

Just install the correct size for your frame so sear is not walking sideways.
The 1911 build officer frame came with the adapter to convert frome series 80 to series 70. Since it came with the frame it should fit like a glove. I’ll let you know how it comes out.
When you get it in your hands we need photos of the frame and adapter .
Lots of frame photos!
What caliber is this going to be?
And by the way, have you looked at these?
9mm
Yup. Rock Island slide and bull barrel
