yikes, don’t phones do just as well these days?

Not even close. You can get cool pics and video from a phone but cameras and a good lens will be so much better.

pretty hard to find a phone that equals my A7Rii at 42MP

main glass is the Sigma 70-200 2.8 APO DG HSM OS
in the bag is a
SAL 2.8 28/70 SAM
Sigma 105 2.8 Marco DG IF
Sigma 28 1.8D EX DG
Sigma 30 2,8 DN ART (carry over from the NEX)
HVL-60M with the FA-EB1AM
Signa EF-500 DG Super as a slave flash

I avoid the Amazon MemDisk - I keep getting fakes or they crap out after a few uses. I pay a bit more but get my Sandisks from costco - and when they crap out I return them and get more.

Do you find the Sigma glass to do good with finding and maintaining focus on the full frame sensor? The art lenses are sweet! I’ve seen some people say its not as fast as the gm glass with videos. I run sigma glass on my a6000 and love it! Never had an issue so far. I need more glass for both of my cameras.

the 70 200 did a lot of sport video with a lot of stills and is my go to lens - the focus speed is faster than me - anytime it had issues with seeking/miss focus was because of the multi-focus over center point. I have used the Sony FE 70/200GM and didn’t see much of a difference for my style of action and could not justify paying double. And to top it off (other than the 30mm) all my lenses are A mount. The Sigma 28 1.8 was my choice because at the time they only offered a APS-c (Zeiss and a stop slower)

For anyone wanting an inexpensive large frame AR receiver set, here you go. I can’t guarantee it, but it should work if you bought one of the 12.5" Sig barrels from the recently.

$199.99 lower with a billet upper

$129.99 but a funky upper

Not sure how far you can see but all the videos seem pretty cool for a pocket NV!

Pffft  5.00 more than 80% lowers

Actually lowers that you can build on can be found as low as $29 at times. Its crazy that 80% went from being dirt cheap to more than a lot of 100%

308?

308 no i, thought you was just mentioning ar15s as a whole compared tp 80%

While 80% offer anonymity, you are no longer saving money if you have to buy things to finish it.

Do you really have anonymity? Wasn’t it Aries that sold them and the ATF kicked in their doors with swap and took hold of all their records of who bought what? Unless your buying local with cash there is always a trail.

I picked up 80’s as a hobby, very satisfying, the perceived anonymity …

would be a tough thing to achieve with credit cards and retail/gunbroker purchases.

As to saving $, not a chance

True, but I have a feeling that many trails will end at the lake bottom. :boat:

That is the only way to possibly remain anonymous.
