I must have missed something, wouldn’t be the first time.

Well, I have 50 acres of it and I’d take a really dim view if I caught anyone stealing my forest, so I guess I am. The law says they need to pay 8x what the wood is worth but I still don’t want anyone to steal any. It’s just not for sale.

But yes, I’m definitely not a socialist, so I must be a racist too. That’s OK. If someone wants firewood the solution is simple. Work and buy land, pay the taxes on it, cut the wood, haul the wood, season the wood, and then they can use the wood for firewood. And the best part is that it’s all free once it’s all paid for and the work is done. They can give the wood away for free or have someone steal the trees.

And tonight we’re burning some of our hoarded firewood.

I’m reminded of the grasshopper and the ant.

When I lit the fire last night the temp was dropping slowly and it was 24°. I checked a little later and it was 25°. When I went to bed it was 26. Wow, did they get it wrong! When I woke up it was 25. I hope their temp’ predictions aren’t going to be like their snow predictions of the past where every storm was going to be massive. Although to their credit they have been moving away from that sort of forecasting lately.
