Did you use a projectile or is it just powder? In the early 90s I helped build a civil war replica field gun I forget the size but we made projectiles from beer cans filled half full of concrete . We could hit a 4x8 sheet of plywood at 150 to 200 yards every shot.
I’m just glad I wasn’t paying for it.

That is awesome.

I did two shots, both were about 2300gr of powder wrapped in aluminum foil with an old had cloth as a wad then packed nice and tight. The range I’m a member at said no problem doing dry shots, but no projectile at this time. The bore is 57mm and I picked up a box of ball pit balls that are 54mm. I plan to fill them with cement.

Is that close to a pound? BP is expensive and hard to find now. or it was a couple months ago. hadn’t checked lately.

One pound of powder is 7000gr, so about 1/3 of a pound. I found this stuff online for $18 a pound. I ordered 10 pounds and paid $57 in shipping.

I paid 24 bucks a pound couple years ago and stocked up. that was before the panic too. that shipping is a killer on powder.
