OK, I get it about the wire, but I’m having a hard time to understand the thinking on the nails. Maybe I don’t want to know that much.

I once had a coworker who wired his 'scope to his deer rifle and thought he was good to go. Heck, he could see the crosshairs, right? This gent also kept checking the tops of trees for deer. So we’d kid him about “deer eggs” found in nests. I never hunted with him, never had the opportunity to turn him down, so I just took the word of others. I hope they kept a close eye on him.
