Lautenberg Amendment started this, over 20 years ago, with guns being taken away due to protection orders. Few years back, the left was making noise about the Lautenberg Amendment not being enough, essentially demanding that it should be expanded enough that any woman that had been on a single date with a guy, or perhaps even talked to him in passing, could use Lautenberg to have his guns stripped from him, for her safety.

Red Flag laws provide a gender neutral (in terms of who can start the process) expansion of Lautenberg.

A really good book to read is Resistance to Tyranny by Martino. That’s all I’ll write on the subject.
