He was a knife maker at the Sheffield knife works before that.

Maybe he discovered it in '88. I have DE and SE that go back a century+. Surprisingly they work as good today on our beards as they did 100 years ago. Maybe better because of our stainless steel blades that don’t micro rust between shaves. That was a huge selling point in the 60s when SS blades were introduced.

No pressure exerted means exactly that, no pressure. When you think you’re putting no pressure on the skin reduce it by half and continue until you truly have no pressure being exerted. When the razor isn’t touching the skin you’ve gone just a hair too far.
