Shilen Rifle is just up the road from me in Texas. They have a (mostly) annual swap meet at their shop. They have sales on some of their barrels and better bargains on factory seconds. They also invite other firearm related vendors to set up in the parking lot. This year’s swap meet is May 15.
They make some good product. It is use-BeltFed’s-credit-card expensive though.
i have been before but that was back in the days when funds were far more plentiful, will be going to the largest gun show in the world in less than two weeks, so will definitely have to see what happens there before i could consider it
That is another event I want to experience. Tulsa is only a few hours up the road…well, maybe about 8.
yeah thinking 6-7 for me, maybe a bit more… been over year at this point since i have been. both shows in 20 were cancelled. i am looking forward to getting back up there, working the show, hanging out and browsing around.
I had never heard of this event til now. Sounds interesting, and it’s fairly close! I’ll try and see if I can go and hopefully get to meet you finally.
The swap meet is next Saturday. My buddy and I are going to be there early.
I had forgotten about this. Thanks for the reminder! I have a Church function I have to go to Saturday morning, though. So I may go later in the afternoon.
Did you get to go? I had to miss it thanks to some thieves that stole all 4 cat converters from my truck two nights before.
That sucks!
I went with a buddy. I bought some ammo for my brother, primers for another brother, and some bullets for a friend. The prices were higher than “normal” but much less than typical for today. I paid 60¢ a round for 7mm Mauser ammo, $75 per thousand for the primers and $50 per box of some Berger projectiles.
There was a lot of powder there. There were a lot of long range shooters, some of whom were selling supplies that they didn’t need.
Oh yea! I did buy a factory second Shilen barrel. It is a 20 inch SS 308AR barrel for something in the future.
Damn, why do you have …errr…why did you have four?
Those prices actually sound reasonable considering the way things are today!
I have no idea why Toyota Tundras come with 4 cats. I didn’t even know they had that many until after the fact! The bastards also cut some wiring on both sides. I’m guessing the wiring is for the O2 sensors. One of the cuts was made next to the fuel line, but luckily they didn’t nick it.
