Here comes the 2019 ban on laser thingies that light up stuff…
(Insert sarcasm here…the crime is not amusing and I’m not being flippant about these deaths)

How did this happen Illinois has some of the most restritive gun laws .

I wonder if the shooter had a FOID card, and if not, how (and where) did he get the gun and bullets?

Clearly in Wisconsin where the laws are more lax

“You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done.”

Only a madman would use a laser.

The permit was rejected, and Illinois State Police sent him a letter demanding he voluntarily surrender the weapon, but he did not, the chief said. Investigators are trying to determine why he didn’t surrender the weapon

Because he’s a criminal, you idiots!

and whether law enforcement followed up with him to confiscate the gun.

No, because your Chicago gun laws are obviously superior and that letter was enough to dissuade anybody. :confounded::woman_facepalming:

And how did he find a background check that doesn’t do fingerprints??? Some underground method of circumventing the law? Say it ain’t so! :roll_eyes::confounded:

Here we go again. This will turn out just like bump stocks. Lasers are just another tool, though slightly more useful than bump stocks they still are just a tool. They don’t allow the firearm to be fired faster or in my opinion more accurately. I’m more accurate without a laser, in fact my groups get bigger when I use one. Even if you are proficient with one it still doesn’t matter, its just a tool and has nothing to do with the person pulling the trigger. This is another step in the direction of outlawing / banning everything attached to and used with a firearm as a backdoor means to ban them all. You wait, red dots/reflex sights are next after lasers.

Any normal citizen that’s a sheep that believes this anti-gun nonesense should just look around the world at places with the most gun control. People still kill each other. Hell, just look at London. It’s a bloodbath across the pond.

And so another shooting by a guy that was not legally able to possess a firearm, also, owned a clear criminal background. Hello, that suggests the local, county, state and federal background checks are not always secure from falling through the cracks.
With such legislative palaver in Illinois, why is this “overlooked” by Mainstream News, and politicians who argue for more laws and stringent restrictions. Might want to evaluate what’s already on the books and actually enforce them instead of calling for more.:thinking:

@Merlin7

I totally agree with you. But, I think they want more laws because that gives them more ways to control people (and more overall control over the people).

Besides, the people trying to make these gun control laws are (mostly) not the same people as the ones that are tasked with enforcing them.

Yes @JohnB you are probably right but all the preceding rules should have an expiration clause.
