I’m sure the brain trust here can answer this question. Will a Winchester model 12 or 1200 cycle the shorty shells?
Not reliably.
I don’t believe the opsol works for the Winchester 12 or 1200 tbh.
Edit: Tested and no it wont, The only way I can get the model 12 to cycle is to go sloooowww and hold it at a funny angle.
Thanks. I’ll just have to buy the 2 3/4 and go that route. Tho both have full chokes so it will have to be close.
BTW these work…

Thanks again. I’ll check them out.
Excuse my ignorance, I’m not overly knowledgeable on shotguns. What are the pros/benifit of short shells? Capacity?
Capacity, weight, reduced speed to avoid over penetration. Older shotguns where sometimes not designed for use with modern 2 3/4 shells additionally.
But still sufficient to kill close quaters, inside of 10 feet?
Yes. Think of shooting someone 6 times all at once w/a 38. Short buckshot round same thing.
