Solving homelessness with a city for the homeless?

Can we send all non-Veteran “chronically” homeless people to China to live here:

Would the proposed location be above or below sea level?

And… “Qualified Citizens” means someone gets to pick winners and losers, no?

Sooo…
Just for the record… The only thing that solves homelessness is giving them some place to stay that is safe and they can start to accumulate things and treating their disorders whatever they may be.
Once you have addressed both the fact that most homeless people have some very acute form of mental illness or addictive state or both. I have seen great success in my hometown with a combination of both programs however one or the other in itself is not sufficient.

Well, when I first read this I had the following questions:

  1. Why would the homeless want to go to a remote location to be surrounded only by other homeless people? I mean those that want to be homeless or mentally ill.
  2. No mention of roads to and from the city? Only underground tunnels? As in, good luck walking if you want to leave? And how soon before leaving will not be an option? (Out of sight, out of mind)
  3. No mention of hospital, fire station, police station or other services?
  4. Will this city become the crime center of CA?
  5. RFID chips to enter or enter and leave? As in, eventually a prison?
  6. Would the “no longer homeless” still be eligible for government assistance?
  7. Who pays for the facilities and amenities?

I believe there are 3 kinds of homeless people - fell on hard times and want to get back up, mentally ill and needing help before even being able to rejoin society, and bum.

Bums will not want to leave the “source of income”.
Those needing help will see it as being shunned.
Mentally ill would actually benefit from being in an institution with doctors…

Just my thoughts.

Its just a utopia idea to get them to go willingly to “the city”

it was done in Germany and even in the US but the residents didn’t have much say in the matter.

Once they round up all the homeless into the containment camp, it’ll be Soylent Green baby!!

Don’t they already have a city here in the USA? San Francisco? Just ship more there; SanFranciscans love them. I hear LA does too.

That is why I said it was liberal logic. I don’t get it.
As far as I know CA has long ago defunded and closed many institutions for mentally ill, just like they defunded brush clearing (think wild fires). We had drought, yet no attempts to prepare to capture rain water were made. The heavy rains came and it all drained into the ocean.
Liberal logic.

Well, here is a question. If you (CA leftists) want to build a city for the homeless to get them out of the society (let’s call it what it is), how do you feel about moving all the illegals there? Give them RFID chips, etc…

well there you go, they figured out how to start the state on fire and are sticking with it

What do they care if thousands of acres burn and animals die and homes are turned to ash? As long as they can get the government assistance money each year.
