Something for nothing

A friend gave me a brand new 1860 Army revolver.
Why?
Can not find #11 caps anywhere.
Only in America can not not get ammo for a civil war firearm.

It is rough to not be able to find the parts to an old firearm. On the other hand, how many typewriter ribbons are available now…or ink wells for quill pens?

Those caps were bought for $5 a 100, Not into war profiteering.
The second one you have to buy $!00s of dollars worth, I only need 200.

Got a cap maker and enough sauce to make 4000, $89.

You can get ribbons, and even Polaroid film for 109 land cameras.

But can you still get the flash cubes?

You realize the 79 bucks was for 1000 of them, 10 cans of 100. even at 5 bucks you’re talking about that’s still 50.

Being able to reload them seems likes a good plan B to me.

You and your damn math smarts :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Thought picking up spent brass sucked, imagine spent caps :grimacing:

I have thousands. They flow like water from the press. The PIA is reloading them. The compound I have is corrosive so we will need to clean like in the old days. I haven’t done it yet, but this situation we are experiencing points to a reality I don’t want my grandchildren to experience.

These #11 primers are good reminder.

The 109 has battery operated flash, only the original land cameras used them, and I dont have any idea, I have a 109,

The revolver is a fun toy, nothing more. Grand kids and Nieces will shoot it way more than me. The Flinter is my go to.
