Given the last auction price, the price for all the Stoner stuff and the gun would be well over $200K if I put it up for sale, which I will not do.
The Stoner 63A is 5.56mm not 7.62. Its hard to get a size in pictures many times. The gun weighs empty less than 10 lbs which is over 7 lbs less than a M249 and even lighter than many peoples AR15s these days.
I thought they were a 7.62, never really studied them. Were they not a M60 competitor for military contracts at one time ?
You just thought some dude that went by stoner 63 had pics of weed for sale.
For those that are not familiar with the Stoner 63a, the gun uses a receiver that can be reconfigured into different configurations for different roles. Depending on the configuration the gun fires from an open bolt in some and closed bolt in others.
Rifle/Carbine, the receiver in turned upside down compared to the LMG/AR/Fixed configuration so it now ejects on the right and the gas tube/oprod is on the top. The trigger group gets a hammer installed with disconnector and now fires from a closed bolt. Carbine is same as rifle except it has a folding butt stock and shorter barrel.

What was the orivinal price of the stoner 63 @Mongo
To the military? I have no idea.
I bought mine for $12K in 1994. I took a loan out against my 401K telling them I needed a down payment for a house to buy it. Little did I know it would approach the cost of a house later.
I wasn’t but sure am impressed, why did it never become more popular?
94, no wonder you don’t care to sell it, you survived the dawn and set of the ban with it and still firing away
The Marines tried to adopt the LMG carbine and rifle configurations but they were using the Army at the time for procurement. The Army had other plans. The SEALS used it until 1986 when it was replaced by the M249.
There have been various reasons given as to why it was never adopted, the real reason I think mostly was the end of Vietnam.
Resembles a Daewoo K2 a little…
But mostly it’s Badass!
Is that anything like a
So bad….wish I had a 12k investment that had done that well. Makes me want to go shoot something up.
pfft, I’d just like to wave 200k under his nose and see if I can get him to say uncle
@Robert ,I will let you waive 200k in front of my face.
Go ahead, wave it dude…see if he’ll take 150k, maybe 100k. I would, but don’t have the permits, etc to own one…I am just so full of it today.
