I guess for cheap range ammo, this stuff didn’t do too bad. Let me know your thoughts. And, if you wanna get in on some pretty good ammo deals from time to time, be sure to check out the Global Ordnance link below. Yes, it is an affiliate link but more importantly than using that, be sure to leave them a note if you do buy stuff and let em know who sent ya. Oh and yeah, this is an early drop, will probably not hit big daddy YT until tomorrow.
I ALMOST bought a case of the steel case Sterling for range practice, but opted for a different brand of brass case for $20 more since I prefer brass and it works better in my ETS speed loaders. Still may give the Sterling a go in the future.
Bought 2 cases of Ammo Inc 9mm end of last year and that was the most garbage ammo I’ve ever bought. I didn’t get through 24 rounds before I quit. At least 7 of them failed to fire with solid primer strikes during a competition. Haven’t tried to shoot any more of it since. Now that I’m a member of the local pistol club, I may take it out there and practice failure drills with it.
how does the price on brass Sterling compare to that $29 savings with the other brand over steel? yeah, there is definitely some rough ammo out there, always has been, even from some big companies that should be doing much better, so i feel your pain there. i got quite a bit of this to play with, so am going to try and run it through a variety of things to see what happens. i have so far had pretty good luck with the Igman brand ammo that GO carries.
The steel Sterling case I was going to buy was $219.98+tax free ship. The brass I bought (Freedom new on Mother’s Day sale) was $256.80+tax free ship. Bought 1200 rounds to get the free ship. Free shipping on ammo can be a big deal.
yeah, that was a pretty good deal then… think the brass Sterling is a bit higher than that. for free shipping on $200 or more in the future, no matter what it is on there, you can use CLOVERTAC… just saying so if something pops up, always that option
I bought 1500 rounds of the sterling brass a while back pretty cheap. None of my Caniks will run it. A couple other of my guns won’t run it either. it’s underpowered. now it runs in most of mine. i shot 100 rounds of it today through a SA 5.25. Just for the fact it won’t run in a few of my guns i won’t buy anymore. i still have about 300 rounds of it left.
The guns it does run in it does ok and decent accuracy, It also will not run in my Taurus Tactical and gets hung up in the chamber. is a bear to remove too.
Any Glocks? I can’t keep up with who the haters are, so I apologize if you’re one of them. That’s what I’d be running it through. They eat everything I’ve thrown at them, except for that Ammo Inc with shit primers.
i don’t own a Canik, so can’t really test that on this end… but have ran it through a lot, with more to try, so far, so good. @Preyhunter this video i just posted, ran fine, both steel and brass in my G17L, so there is that.
Used to buy a fair amount of steel case ammo when it was a lot cheaper than brass.
Now the price isn’t that much different so I been buying brass only.
