So, let’s see the community’s opinion. I’ve picked a handful of sights that I believe fit as the current best “general use handgun combat sights”. This includes metal bodies, tritium vials, multiple options for different handguns, and options for suppressor height. While some of these sights don’t satisfy all the criteria, I included them as a judge for popularity. This list is not inclusive, but hopefully I’ve cast a wide enough net to get some opinions out there, or at least open some minds to different brands for those looking around.

  • Ameriglo Hackathorn/Operator
  • XS DXT Standard/Bigdot
  • Truglo TFO/TFX
  • Meprolight Tru-Dot
  • Night Fision Perfect Dot Tritium
  • Dawson Precision Tritium/Fiber Optic
  • None, I leave mine bone stock.
  • The future is now, I use a micro red-dot.

Personally, I enjoy the use of Trijicon HD XRs on my carry SP2022, but I also really like the XS Bigdot on my 930 JM Pro, and am looking forward to putting the XS F8 on my XD-40.
