But they didn’t address the issue of how fully semiautomatic weapons are overkill for self-defense purposes.

Clearly an amateur, if they slipped up that badly.

Edit: I would almost suggest that showing them a G26 in .45GAP would blow their mind, but that require them to be capable of understanding what they were looking at.

Edit 2: G39 - I still have trouble keeping the silly model numbers straight. PF940v2, PF940C, PF940SC and PF45 is much easier to keep sorted out.

At least she seems to have accepted that 7mm Glocks are not suitable for self-defense.

Edit: It’s a little difficult to connect the dots, but I think this is someone focused on self-defense being THE justification for an individual to have a gun, and the ability to carry it concealed being the main parameter in deciding how suitable it is for self-defense (big scary guns are therefore not suitable).

Not sure if the concept of truck guns should be mentioned…

Edit 2: Sucks that the folding adapters for the buffer tube are as expensive as they are.

Have a friend that has a 20mm orlicon. 20mm antiaircraft gun from ww2. He has to make all his ammo including the brass. It is fun to shoot but about $5.00 a shot a 30 rnd drum doesn’t last long on full auto

There is the issue of keeping the high ground to avoid becoming them, and the issue of not adopting their tactics to avoid them beating you with experience…

But using their own crap against them can work fairly well, if done in moderation. Quoting an NRA or gun industry source is worthless, as they will consider it tainted, at best. Government sources might have some trust from them, but they won’t truely trust it unless their side is quoting it. Stuff from their own side (the gun control lobby) is gospel.

The gun control lobby groups spend so much time twisting the statistics to their own purposes, and outright making shit up, that if you take one of their claims, then search around for conflicting information, there’s a good chance you will find a “study” being promoted by another gun control group that pokes rather large holes in that claim.

How can they reply to being shown that their own side discredits the claim they just made? There really isn’t any logical way they can, without admitting that there’s some false information from their side.

I’ve been dealing with these mental midgets for a very long time. What I generally do is coral them with data, use something I know it a trap, such as saying “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” Most of the time they will return with well-regulated, or militia. I then ask them to define those. Most of the time they double down and try to avoid answering. They just try to change the subject. I keep up the pressure and ask them again and again, please define it. I always remain calm, don’t use names or insults. Stooping to their level is what they want. The more I don’t react how they want me to react simply sets them off more and more. Once I got them really wound up, I stop responding to them and only talk about them with other people in the conversation. This sets them off even more. I treat them like that one guy at the party that no one likes. Just ignore them while making fun of them right in front of them.
