The market place

Just a topic up for discussion
There seems to be zero activity in the market place here
We should change this
A good and active market place will bring in more members and make some that aren’t active participate
We should come up with a set of rules that works for everyone
Simple rules like no thread crapping in the market place
No ffl items if that’s what everyone wishes
The seller should state all terms of agreement and form of payment in original post
And make it a sticky at the top of the subforum
So every one participanting has to agree to the rules or suffer the consequences

Just a few ideas

So far I like what 308AR has for rules and if we can tune some up here I’ll pin them

No Guns yet, and @jf89 added we need to have a clear no illegal items out of state, mags to states not allowed etc

Do we know who is liable in a situation like this?

I know of one purchaser that might take the risk if it’s his risk only.

Ask Tommy Chong

For one thing I am going to add a box at sign up agreeing not to be stupid or unlawful

No shipping without payment and shipping information
One would expect the buyer to understand there state laws

But the seller should also refuse shipping if mailing to a ban state
There is really no excuse
Things like a non ban state disclaimer should be in the original wtb add posted by the user

When you want to buy a item you post a I’ll take it on the wtb thread
Then send the seller a private message and then they can finish the transaction
This keeps the thread un cluttered with details of the transaction

I’ll get a copy of the rules from another forum as well

These are the commandments we live by
Our market place is huge and has tons of things

ah fUUU, what group can I put together to handle this task…?

If you guys can put together a bulleted list and agree on it we’ll pin it in the trading post

How? I have been doing business a long time. While I understand as a business I cannot ship 30 round magazines to California, and someone from California cannot purchase from me… how does this effect the site?
It effects me because I can loose my licenses, purchaser can be slapped with a fine or what ever it is that Comifornia does… what happens to a independent forum?

I believe private sales were the main thought here, keeping members from doing things illegal and potentially harming the site.

I do want to figure out how to get retailers promoted, I missed your being one, I hope you’ll join the retailers group and help :sunglasses:

Need a feed back system to leave good marks for those selling. Also I’m always weary to buy from a board I haven’t visited a ton so something like a verified system?? People who are using this forum could send links of their other forum profiles showing their outstanding track record of being a stand up person of society to a forum administrator… ?

We use a system called I trader it’s simple and works very well

I get the feeling that most people here could care less about a thriving market place in this forum

Hours in a day are limited and we have many things going,

don’t despair

I said this exact samething :+1:
