Tramming 1911 plate

Up/ down, side to side, with the plate just being Mill finish still get +/- .001" in the horiz/ vert

The difference between the top of the hammer pin and slide stop pin should be .005" (with a .158 hammer pin and a .201 slide stop pin, .157/.200, etc).
Some drawings the math comes out a little different, but usually pretty close to that, I set mine up so slide stop pin .005 closer to top.

Wow super exciting that we have someone knowledgeable about machine tool on the forum. I’m registered at the tech College to start precision manufacturing coarse in the fall.

I’m not a machinist, just a hack with some machine tools! Figuring it out as I go.
