Using Automotive Cleaners On Guns

Over the years I have had many people tell me they use various automotive cleaners on their guns. But I remember a time when I tried it and it literally melted the plastic trigger guard on a rifle. That was years ago and I can’t remember now what I used. So, I decided to try out a few automotive products to see what they would do, if anything to stocks made out of plastic or wood. Do you use any automoative cleaners on your guns?

I use Brake parts cleaner on mine. NEVER get it on wood or plastic!

yup, wood especially from what i seen here, didn’t do anything to the plastic
