If you already have an AR, why not just get a new complete upper? Most ammo will feed fine in a standard AR mag, other than 7.62x39 and 6.5 grendal. But mags are minor. Shorter range, look at a 300 black, longer range, look at a 6.5 grendal, want a hard punch in close, inside 200 yards, look at a .50 Beowulf. The AR platform will shoot just about anything, even a .50bmg.

I suggest looking at these 223 / 22-250 / 224 Valkyrie / 6.5 Creedmore.

I would go with 223 Bolt Action, especially with hunting due to the low recoil, ammo affordability/availability, light weight, ballistics and sound.

This is strictly from reviews, I’v only shot the 223 from the list and my 308.
I think it is predominately on affordability and personal preference.

I’ve learnt the main reason for caliber’s is impact and distance.

The problem IS…there are SO MANY COMBINATIONS, RIFLES AND SETUPS!!!

I have a 308 for Long Range 300-1000 hunting and buying a 223 for hunting -300m

I will get round shooting others I hope. . . .
