Glad to see this posted! What an incredible accident, he is very lucky to be alive. When he mentioned the EMT’s telling him you have to remove your thumb he does and he noticed his finger and says (that’s not good) realizing it’s broken shaped like a W.

WOW! Yeah, that could have been much worse. Of course he’ll never know precisely what happened in the round that began the chain of events. That’s why I never shoot anything I find at the range. I don’t even like to shoot ammo from people I know.

I have never met the person in the following story and I NEVER want to be around him when he shoots anything. This guy is a “reloader”. The story I got from others who do know him is that he measures nothing. If a case will hold x amount of powder that’s exactly what he uses. I know that sounds insane and it is. But that’s exactly what I was told. That was decades ago and I have no idea how many guns (if any) that he’s blown up. I know his uncle and he verified just how stupid his nephew is.

Wow! Very fortunate guy! Definitely shows the importance of knowing some advanced first aid.
I took a “Stop the bleed” training a while back, and this is exactly the type of thing they covered…stick a thumb in it lol.
Hats off to his dad for quick thinking and keeping a level head.

YT made a recommendation about reaction - Talfladermause guy said 5 reasons why he shouldn’t have posted the vid - not sure I’m a big fan of that. Seems more concerned for ‘what could happen to himself and the gun community’ than that he really watched the video - I’ve not been a fan of Fladermause much myself
