What are your plans for Memorial Day?

Taps never affected me the way it has for the past few decades but for those who don’t know the story of it here it is.

I can’t listen to it, and I think my dog was a soldier back for another try at life. He always gives plaintive cries when he hears it.

RIP

Memorial day pudding flag completed with toy soldiers and a toy tank, yummy

Not totally accurate with number of stripes but… It did pretty well

I respect the solemness of the day, but I think it’s also OK to take a feast day as we are not currently in a horrible war, we only have Corona. We used to have a parade growing up followed by a service in the town cemetery. I miss that. A few years back we were part of a big celebration nearby that also reflected on the service and scripture but the pastor that sorta led that and had it at his place made some dumb decisions and we don’t associate anymore. Next year we may have to look for another shindig but we’ll see

I’m in ketosis and eating any of that would no doubt kick me out of that state, but it looks delicious! I think we can grant the artistic license employed.
