When did the US Presidents stop supporting the 2nd Amendment?

it didn’t matter which party but it seemed only recently (say half dozen Presidential generations ) that the support waned or disappeared, and the one common thread is Military Service Versus Being a Lawyer / career politician.
Democrats JFK and LBJ - stout supporters (hell one even won the Congressional Medal of Honour.that was worn next to his purple heart). So is it as simple as that?

Considering how many US presidents have been shot and even assassinated, it’s not surprising of their lack of support.

Sorry, try again…

How about 1934, Franklin Delano Roosevelt!

JFK owned AR15s… a freaking democrat that owns AR15s…it really is hard believe by todays standards.

Although Teddy wasnt a democrat he was one of the most pro gun presidents yet he is partly responsible for the progressive movement.

It must be something about being a Roosevelt.
Teddy Roosevelt survived an assassination attempt during his campaign for President in 1912.

I voted for Trump. My brother warned me about it saying he would pass gun control. But I bought Trumps comment “The war on the 2nd is over”. Boy was I wrong. I will never vote for him again

Trump is just part of the same shit ,Bush was also endorsed by the NRA but he got dumped by them and labled a traitor (I think). Reagen was also anti gun in some ways.

Once again people, they are puppets, merely puppets!
You want to make a difference? Start putting the heat on all those in the media, start holding them accountable, we desperately need to cleanse the airways of this communistic, socialist, and evil propagandist machine!
The first amendment is probably one of the most important, people are capable of making good decisions… They just need the truth!

& nailed Marilyn Monroe, not too shabby, lucky bastard! (Except for that whole bullet to the head thing…)

I’m going with after President Reagan was shot. You never really heard much about anything anti-gun that was well organized until after his assassination attempt. At least in my time, that seems it was the major turning point that brought about the rising tide of gun hate. Every President since has shied away from being heavily pro-gun.

Bush Jr ended a lot of Clinton’s gun regulations. I think he would be pro gun

Did he? Or did they simply expire…

What do you think it would be like with that retched thing that bears the last name of the past?
I dare not dignify it’s existance…

Or perhaps something like Burnie for the future?

I understand your upset… However you might consider focusing on the roots of the problem instead.

When a democrats in office republicans fight gun control. When they’re in they go along with it. At least with a democrat there would be an opposition

He let it expire but there was a democrat push to make it permanent and still is. He didn’t go along with it like our current trash bucket of a president is

Meh, inaction does not equal action. Besides… nothing is absolute, which is why I used the adjective “heavily”.

Sure, they want to pretend their working for the constituents… There has always been bickering, whining and complaining back and forth. But it’s all a song and dance trying to convince you of something else when the reality of the situation is far more sinister… The reality is that it’s simply a choice between the lesser of two evils and all the while they take little bits of our constitution and freedoms away…
Every politician is bought and paid for, corrupt and some just have a bigger dorsal fin… But make no mistake they are all sharks.

When have we actually been given freedoms back, when has there been less control… It’s always getting worse, maybe it’s time to step way back and take a good look and try and discover the true roots of the problem eh?
